Frequently Asked Questions

What does professional headlight repair include?
Depending on the damage, the repair scope may include restoration of the outer polycarbonate cover, selective cover replacement, housing or mounting bracket repair, and LED/electronic diagnostics.
Does a damaged headlight always need complete replacement?
No. The first step is to identify which component is actually damaged. For localized damage, a targeted repair may be technically appropriate.
Are original components preserved?
Our goal is to preserve functional original optical, electronic and mechanical components wherever technically possible.
What quality requirements apply to replacement components?
Replacement components are selected according to defined technical and quality criteria. Origin, specification and relevant product information are documented where available.
Are independent replacement components original vehicle-manufacturer parts?
No. EDK does not present independent replacement components as original products of the vehicle manufacturer or original headlight manufacturer.
How is the headlight tested after repair?
Depending on headlight type and repair scope, relevant checks may include electrical function, leak-tightness, beam pattern, headlight adjustment, visual inspection and final quality control.
Can every headlight be repaired?
No. Repairability depends on damage severity, location, material condition, headlight technology and available repair methods.
How long does a repair take?
Turnaround depends on the damage, headlight type, component availability and current workload. A realistic timeframe can be provided after incoming assessment.
Does EDK work with workshops and B2B partners?
Yes. EDK supports workshops, bodyshops, dealerships, repair networks, insurers and claims organizations, fleets and leasing companies.
Is there a warranty?
Defined repair services are covered by the applicable published EDK warranty terms. Warranty and statutory rights are clearly distinguished.
