Targeted Outer Polycarbonate Cover Replacement

If only the outer polycarbonate cover is damaged, functional components do not automatically need to be replaced. EDK first assesses the complete headlight and, where technically appropriate, selectively replaces the damaged outer cover.

Typical applications

• cracks in the outer polycarbonate cover
• stone-chip damage
• mechanical damage
• severe surface damage
• advanced yellowing
• damage that cannot reasonably be corrected by surface restoration alone

Our process

01 - Identification: Vehicle, OE part number, technology and existing markings are recorded.
02 - Damage assessment: Cover, housing, mounting points, sealing and relevant functions are assessed.
03 - Removal: The damaged outer cover is carefully separated from the existing headlight.
04 - Replacement & assembly: A carefully selected replacement component is installed and the unit is resealed according to a defined process.
05 - Quality control: Depending on type, relevant functional, leak-tightness, beam-pattern, adjustment and final checks are performed.

Quality & documentation

Independent replacement components are not presented as original products of the vehicle manufacturer or original headlight manufacturer. Origin and relevant product information are documented where available.

Transparency

On modern headlights, 'headlight lens' generally refers to the transparent outer polycarbonate cover. Where technically possible, functional original optical and electronic components are preserved.
